General Motors today announced two important changes in the leadership of its Korean Operations, effective Feb. 1.
Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Jungyoon Jung will transition to the newly established position of Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). She will lead the formulation and implementation of strategies aimed at fostering the mid-and long-term growth and sustainability of the company's commercial and corporate operations.
Managing Director of Communications Myongok Yoon, will succeed Jung as CMO while retaining her duties as Managing Director of Corporate and Executive Communications. She will take charge of the company’s domestic sales, with responsibility for developing and executing marketing strategies for the Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC brands.
The executive appointments are part of GM’s new medium- to long-term strategy for the domestic market. The automaker will continue to grow its multi-brand strategy while prioritizing customer experience-oriented marketing efforts.
Jungyoon Jung has held marketing responsibilities for brands including Cadillac and Chevrolet since joining GM in 2003. In 2021, she became the head of Chevrolet's domestic sales division, overseeing the brand’s sales nationwide. In November 2022, she was appointed CMO for GM's Korean Operations, overseeing the Chevrolet, Cadillac and GMC brands.
Myongok Yoon joined GM in 2019, overseeing corporate and executive communications for GM International. She took on her current position in 2020, leading communications for GM's Korean Operations. With a career spanning 27 years, Yoon is a seasoned professional in marketing and communications. Before joining GM, she managed communications operations at GE Healthcare.
