Hector Villareal

President & CEO of GM's Korean Operations 

As President and CEO of GM Korea, Hector Villarreal is responsible for leading business growth strategies in Korea, alongside overlooking development and production of GM brand products, and sales and service for Chevrolet, GMC, and Cadillac brands' products in the Korean market. 

Prior to his arrival in August 2023, Hector was based in Mexico where he served as the Vice President of Sales, Service and Marketing for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. In his capacity, he successfully grew the commercial operations of GM Mexico across 4 brands including Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac.

Hector joined GM back in 1990 and throughout his 33 years of experience in automotive industry, he has worked all around the world including Korea, Southeast Asia, Russia, Uzbekistan, other neighboring CIS countries, and Mexico where he held various leadership positions across manufacturing engineering, product planning, program management, sales, and general management. 

Hector earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. in Industrial Engineering from the Monterrey Institute of Technology.
